Do you love working with young children?

Have you ever hugged a tree?

Or made a mud pie for a fairy?

Do you believe that risk taking is an important part of childhood development?

Does rain make you want to run outside?

Are you always the slowest person on a hike because you can’t stop smelling the plants?

Requirements:

-comfortable working outdoors with children ages 2-10

-ability to be present and patient with children

-ability to step back and allow children to take some risks within a supportive atmosphere

-comfortable sitting on the ground

-comfortable getting dirty, muddy, dusty, wet. 

-ability to handle small bugs / creatures 

-have reliable transportation, and access to a cell phone

-have a passion for nature and desire to grow as a naturalist

-comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather

-willingness to complete background check, and CPR/First Aid Certification

-passionate and curious about early/middle childhood and early/middle childhood development

Ideal Candidates will have:

-experience/knowledge in Coyote Mentoring

-previous outdoor school experience

-Early childhood credits, experience in a preschool or elementary school program

-strong knowledge of childhood development

-naturalist knowledge

-knowledge of local hazards

-interest in wilderness and ancestral skills (wildcrafting etc.)
